Providence Monthly Meeting conducts all of its business in the traditions of the Religious Society of Friends. This means that the Meeting is run entirely by committees, staffed by volunteers from the community. Each committee is a ministry, seeking to care for the future of our community. We invite you to learn more about these ministries below.

Many of these committees welcome both attenders and members of the Meeting to serve on them. We welcome anyone who is interested to reach out to the clerk of the Nominating Committee. There are certain committees which we have found to be in positions where membership in the Meeting is required to serve on them; these include Ministry and Counsel, Finance, Marriage Clearness, Pastoral Care, and Nominating.

Program Committee

The committee’s goal is to organize activities for all ages that are educational, social, and service-oriented in order to nurture and build our Quaker community. Property Committee

Responsibilities The Property Committee is charged with the care and upkeep of the buildings and grounds of Providence and Saylesville Meeting Houses. Quaker Education Support Committee

The Quaker Education Support Committee will continue to grant partial scholarships to active members’ families for Quaker tuition fees where such grants can make the difference in allowing their children to attend a Quaker school. Religious Education Committee

The Religious Education Committee has two sections: Children Provides for the care, spiritual nurture and religious education of the children within the Meeting community.
