Meetings concerning Saylesville Repair and Restoration!

As of Spring 2009, it became clear that a number of structural problems with the Saylesville Meeting House could no longer be put off. The east (street) wall has been opened from the outside and a variety of serious structural problems with 300 year old building frame have been investigated and documented by Heritage Restoration, Inc. The photograph at right is the current view of the east wall of the meeting house.

After the rise of Meeting for Business on June 14th an informational meeting was held at Saylesville. Mark Conley clerked the meeting with 26 in attendance and made it very clear from the outset that the meeting was informational only and no

decisions would be made other than when it might be best to schedule called Meetings through the rest of the summer.

The meeting was then turned over to Barry Sumrall, Project Manager from Heritage Restoration, Inc., who went over their work, results from that work, building history of Saylesville, work needed to preserve Saylesville, and some scheduling concerns. After this we were shown some of the actual problems on the east side of the Meeting House.

The following materials are drawn from that meeting and documents supplied by Robert Cagnetta, owner of Heritage Restoration.
